Air supply units

Air supply units
Application
With supply air systems consisting of the supply air unit, the ducting or piping system and the supply air ceiling, the air discharged via the paint mist extraction system is replaced.
The supply air unit conveys the required fresh air, filters it and heats it to the required supply air temperature. For this purpose, the unit is equipped with a fan, a slide-in filter and a heat exchanger (heating register).
To save thermal energy and reduce the required heating power, the supply air unit can be supplied with a second heat exchanger for heat recovery. The extracted warm exhaust air and the extracted cold fresh air are passed through this second heat exchanger and up to 65 % of the heat energy contained in the exhaust air is recovered. Since relatively large quantities of exhaust air and supply air are usually conveyed, the investment in heat recovery pays for itself in a relatively short time due to the expected steady rise in energy prices. Another important factor, which is partly relevant to the decision, is the lower heating power required. For many applications, this advantage means that the heating capacity of the existing boiler system is sufficient to cover the heat demand of the supply air system.

Design
The air supply units have a modular design and a stable box construction, consisting of a hot-dip galvanised profile frame construction, which is screwed together to form a unit with corner connectors made of die-cast aluminium. The profile frame can be completely dismantled and is extremely stable. Hot-dip galvanised, double-shell casing panels with intermediate sound and heat insulation are screwed into the frame construction in an airtight manner, which can be removed on all sides.
The following elements are built into the air supply units:
Single inlet, particularly low-noise radial fans with high efficiencies for minimum power consumption. Optionally, the power supply can be provided via frequency converters for speed adjustment or control.
Multi-leaf damper on the intake side.
Bag filter installed in an extendable filter frame for cleaning the intake fresh air.
Heat exchanger (heating register) for heating the prefiltered fresh air to the required supply air temperature. The heating register is equipped with a capillary tube sensor as protection against freezing.
Elastic connection pieces on the suction and pressure side for connecting the duct system.
Special types of paint require that certain setpoint ranges be maintained for both the supply air temperature and the air humidity. For these applications, the air supply units must also be equipped with a humidification and a cooling module. This makes it possible to cool and dehumidify the outside air (summer operation) or to heat and humidify it (winter operation). Units in this design variant are no longer referred to as supply air units but as air-conditioning units.
The supply air and air conditioning units can also be supplied with a weatherproof housing and improved sound insulation for outdoor installation.
