Industrial companies from different sectors are among the customers of SPÄNEX. In the case of exhaust systems with air quantities above 50,000 m³/h, large filters are usually used. The individual customer requirements in this performance segment require optimally tailored plant technology for every application. On the base of a careful analysis of needs, our field service will develop the plant concept together with the customer.

The large filter program consists of three series:

  • battery filters
  • line filters and 
  • filter houses

battery filters

The battery filters are composed of the units of the compact filter program and are particularly interesting for systems that require a suction volume flow between 50,000 and 100,000 m³/h.

line filters 

Among other things the line filters offer the advantage of extensibility i.e., the filter system can grow with the production and with the necessary suction air quantity. The application range usually starts with suction volume flows greater 80,000 m³/h. Exhaust systems with line filters for air quantities up to 200,000 m³/h are in use.

filter houses

Filter houses are compact filter stations with a square footprint and a large container volume, so that the buffer function of the container compensates fluctuations in the material seizure and the transport system is not working permanently, but out of energy-saving reasons it only works intermittently.

common features

installation near to the building

Particularly in case of suction systems with large air quantities, the installation near to the building (intermediate separation) is particularly important. This results in short distances for the exhaust pipes and the return air system, which leads to lower pressure losses and makes a significant contribution to an energy-saving operation.

large quantities of material

The separated chips and dusts are taken in a hopper or a container with a built-in discharging unit and handed over via rotary valve to a conveyor screw, a pneumatic transport system or other conveying device.

The used discharging systems (chain conveyor, screw feeder and rotary screw) can convey large amounts of material. In case of material entry, for example by blow-in chambers, an evenly distribution is observed.

continuous mode of operation

In general, industrial applications require shift work, so the filtration systems are to be operated continuously. This requirement can be met with the cleaning systems compressed air (jet pulse system) and reverse air (process air). Both methods ensure effective and at the same time gentle cleaning of the filter hoses, so that a long service life is achieved.

effective filter technology

For example, the high degree of separation of the used professional-certified filter material in the wood industry ensures a residual dust content in the return air of < 0.1 mg/m³. Depending on the task, the quality and equipment of the filter material is determined.

safe construction, optimal price/performance ratio

The individual modules of the filter casings are designed as self-supporting construction and are made of galvanized steel sheet. The edged corner supports and sheet steel profiles are screwed together so that shock pressure resistant casings with even inner walls are created having the required stability to cope with high wind forces and snow loads. The filter casings comply with the fire resistance class EW 90 so that they can be set up near to the building. Various casing elements are manufactured in large quantities, resulting in cost advantages that allow an optimal price/performance ratio. The frames are made of galvanized heavy profile erected as a screwed, rigid frame composite.

intelligent, energy-saving control technology

Thanks to the control technology, the greatest possible energy saving and a high operating comfort are realized. The determining elements are:

  • speed control of the exhaust fans via frequency converter for continuous adjustment of the exhausting power to the exhaust demand,
  • optimised operation of the conveyor systems using the possible material buffering,
  • automatic opening and closing of the lock slides in the connecting lines to the machines,
  • etc.

pre-assembly in our factory

The individual modules or units of the filter devices will be partially pre-assembled in our factory, so that they only have to be assembled and screwed together on the site with the help of a crane. This results in short assembly times.

    Battery filters are predestined for exhaust volume flows between 50,000 and 100,000 m³/h.
  • construction
    The filter devices consist of several devices and, for example, a common hopper or several containers for the separated chips and dusts.Each device consists of 3 modules:
    • the sound-insulated fan cell with built-in radial fan,
    • the filter cell with the filter hoses and the cleaning device and
    • the hopper elements or container.              
  • compactness
    With the radial fans, by default built into the fan cell, the battery filters are complete exhausting centres, requiring small footprints at high performance.
  • diversity
    The modular system of the filter units, based on several surface grids, allows an optimal adaptation to the customer's demand in combination with different filter hose sizes (variable diameters and lengths).

  • variants
    The battery filters are designed as vacuum systems with integrated exhaust fans as standard. If the application case requires it, the exhaust fans can also be arranged outside the filter devices, namely behind (vacuum system) or in front of (overpressure system).
  • energy-efficient high-performance fans
    Directly driven radial fans with efficiency levels of more than 80% are installed Into the fan cells, so that the power requirement is minimised from the outset. In conjunction with the standard drive motors of the efficiency class IE 3 (optional IE 4), a particularly high degree of efficiency is achieved.
  • high exhausting power
    The air flow through the battery filter devices is optimally designed so that the internal resistance is extremely low. Thus, high external presses are available to overcome the pressure requirements of the connected machines and the piping system. For the same reason, the pipes are connected to the filter device via flow-technically advantageous inlet ducts.
  • quiet operation
    By default the individual fan cells are lined with sound protection mats and equipped with a silencer, so that the noise emissions are kept at a low level despite the high performance. Additional external silencers are usually not required.
  • multiple disposal variants
    The chips and dust being separated and discharged out of the hopper transferred to a pneumatic conveyor system, a transport screw or other conveying device via discharging devices and one or more rotary valves. In some cases, a feeding tank with briquetting press is arranged below the hopper.
  • pre-assembly in our factory
    The individual filter units and the hopper with built-in discharging device are completely pre-assembled in our factory, so that they only have to be assembled and screwed together on the site with the help of a crane. This leads to short assembly times.

    Line filters are generally used for exhaust volume flows greater 80.000 m³/h. The filter system is particularly predestined for applications in the furniture industry as well as in fenestration and planning works.
    The design of the line filters offers, among other things, the advantage of extensibility, i.e. existing filtration systems can simply be extended by individual units and thus adapted to the changed requirements.
  • construction
    The filter devices are composed of several units. Each unit consists of:

    • the clean air chamber with built-in cleaning device,
    • the filter cell equipped with filter hoses and
    • the common hopper for material intake with built-in discharging device (chain conveyor or trough screw).

    The raw air is introduced via blow-in chambers (unfitted filter cells), which are evenly distributed along the length of the filter unit. The clean air chamber can be designed in an elevated shape for easier maintenance.
  • diversity
    The design of the line filter program enables the combination of several units to realize filtration systems of any size. In addition, the filter tube diameters and lengths are variable in stages, so that optimum adaptation to the customer's conditions is possible.
  • cleaning system
    The line filters are primarily supplied with reverse-air cleaning, since it offers a solid advantage in terms of operational safety and operating costs:

    • only process air is used for cleaning.
    • no prepared compressed air is required.

    For reverse-air cleaning, a centrifugal fan mounted on a carriage is installed in the clean air chamber, which drives from filter hose line to filter hose line and cleans the filter hoses with the sucked in clean air.     

    Compressed air cleaning (jet-pulse-system) is used only for special applications.

  • low flow resistance
    Streaming through the line filters has been optimized to reduce the internal resistance, so that the low pressure-loss between the inlet and outlet openings of the filter devices contributes to a power-saving operation.
  • variants
    The line filters are often created as a vacuum system, wherein the exhaust fans are arranged in the flow direction behind the filtering device. In certain cases, it may be advisable to place the exhaust fans in front of the filtering device (overpressure system). Often the exhaust fans are cased soundproof and silencers are installed into the return-air ducts so that noise emissions are barely noticeable.
  • multiple disposal variants
    The separated chips and dusts being discharged out of the hopper are handed over one or more rotary valves to a pneumatic conveying system, a transport screw or other conveying device. In some cases, a feeding container with a briquetting press is arranged below the hopper.
  • pre-assembly in the factory
    The hopper with the discharging mechanism and the profile steel frame are pre-assembled in transport-sized sizes in our factory. For transport reasons, the filters, blow-in elements and clean air elements are delivered in disassembled condition.

  • application range
    Filter houses are preferably used when a large filter capacity is required for small footprints. Another aspect is the large-volume container for buffering the separated chips and dusts, so that fluctuations of   the material are balanced and the transport system must be operated intermittently.
  • construction
    In the filter house, several filter units (clean-air chamber and filter cell) from the line filter program are arranged with each one blow-in chamber in double-rows, so that an almost square basic measure is formed. The container arranged below with a built-in discharging device (rotating screw with forced feed) can collect a chip volume of up to 30 m³.
    The entire filter unit is mounted on a galvanized profile steel frame.
    The clean-air chambers can optionally be designed in a higher execution for easier maintenance.
  • adaptation
    The filter hoses are variable in diameter and in length, so that optimum adaptation to the customer's requirements is possible.
  • Cleaning system
    The filter houses, like the line filters, are delivered primarily with reverse-air cleaning, because it offers the aforementioned advantages in terms of operational safety and operating costs:

    • only process air is used for cleaning.
    • no prepared compressed air is required.

     

    For reverse-air cleaning, two radial fans are mounted on a carriage in the clean-air chamber, driving from filter hose line to filter hose line. With the sucked-off clean-air the filter hoses are cleaned effectively but gently.

    The compressed air cleaning (jet-pulse-system) is only used for special cases.

  • low flow resistance
