Our briquetting presses

Machining processes produce residual materials in the form of chips, dusts and chippings, which are recycled, used for energy or disposed of. For many applications, briquetting is a convincing alternative solution because it offers decisive advantages:

  • Volume reduction of up to 90 %

  • Better handling of residual materials

  • Production of sellable briquettes

  • Reduction of the risk of fire and explosion due to fine dust
Briquettable materials

Practice has shown that residual materials in the form of chips, dusts and wood chips from the following materials can be briquetted:

  • Solid wood

  • Chip board, MDF, etc.

  • Plastic such PU, Styrofoam, GRP, etc.

  • Varnish and sanding dust

  • Paper, cardboard and banknotes

  • Cotton, textiles

  • Biomass such as tabacco, rice husks, coffee husks, miscanthus, etc.

Test pressings

The properties of the materials are diverse. Often, test pressing is necessary in order to be able to make specific statements about the briquettability, the achievable quality of the briquettes and the possibly necessary preparation. For this purpose, test pressing is carried out free of charge with original materials provided by our customers and the results are documented. The established data form the basis for detailed quotations.

SPÄNEX briquetting presses

SPÄNEX has been manufacturing briquetting presses for over 60 years. More than 3,000 machines in practical use mean:

  • Competence and experience

  • Customer confidence

  • Market-oriented solutions

  • Convincing technology

  • Highest quality standard

  • Long service life

Several series with different briquette shapes are produced in the capacity range between 40 and 250 kg/h (depending on the material).

Series SHB 40 - 55

The design and performance of these machines are adapted for use in conjunction with extractors. The briquetting presses are placed directly below the extractors. This combination represents a compact unit, which is usually placed in the workshop.

Series SHB  55 - 70 RS

The machines of this series can also be placed directly below extractors due to their design. Due to the higher capacity (up to 70 kg/h), they are also used as disposal units of the filter systems installed outdoors. The machines are used especially for thermal utilization of briquettes in connection with automatically fed heating boiler plants.

Series SHB 60 - 250

The machines of the SHB 60 - 250 series are usually a part of the filter systems installed outdoors. The briquetting presses can be arranged in a space-saving way underneath the collecting containers of the filters, whereby the support area of the filter unit is also covered with the sheet metal panels of the filter housing for weather-protected placement of the briquetting presses. The briquetting presses are fed from the containers directly via drop shafts or, in the case of indoor installation of the briquetting presses, via conveyor screws arranged in between. The briquettes can be conveyed via transport rails into storage rooms or silos.
