Briquetting offers concrete advantages

During processing residues arise in form of shavings, dust and woodchips, these can be recy-cled, used energetically or disposed. For each of the tasks briquetting is a solution alternative offering concrete advantages:

  • reduction of volume
    - material-related: up to 95 %,
    - bulk-related: up to 50 %,
  • better handling of the residues,
  • production of sellable wood briquettes,
  • reduction of the fire- and explosion risk of respirable dust,
  • no extensive material conditioning required.

The following materials can be compacted:

  • wood,
  • plastic,
  • aluminium and other light weight metals,
  • paper,
  • tobacco,
  • rice husks,
  • biomass.

Well engineered program

Since over 40 years SPÄNEX produces briquetting presses. More than 2.000 machines in the field represent:

  • convincing engineering,
  • heavy, solid execution,
  • long durableness,
  • highest quality,
  • confidence of the customers,
  • know how and experience,
  • solutions in line with the market,
  • optimal price-performance-ratio and
  • powerful service.

We produce three serials consisting of 10 individual machines with capacities between 40 and
250 kg/h
(see technical data).

Applications

SHB 60 with container

SHB 60 with cross conveyor screw

Application

The largest part of the briquetting presses is applied in the SPÄNEX exhaust- and filter plants as a component to turn the chips and dust separated in the material separators and/or the filter plants to briquettes.

The briquetting presses are installed underneath containers or silos and are directly fed via feeding stacks.

When installing the briquetting presses into buildings, between the container of the filter plant and the briquetting press conveying devices, for example pipe screws, are placed.

Presuppositions of the material

The material has to fulfil the following presuppositions:

  • moisture content: 6 – 20 %,
  • structure: pourable,
  • particle size: < 15 mm
  • share of woodchips: < 25 %.

The briquettes are produced without addition of binders. To test the briquettability of the mate-rial a test pressing is executed with the original material and the result is documented. The reachable briquette quality depends upon the material data (moisture content, structure, consis-tency, etc.).

Type series

  • SHB 40

The starter model has especially been designed for the application in combination with the dust collector, without cutting back on the functionality of the machine. The briquette shape is angular with the dimensions 120 x 45 mm.

  •  SHB 60 – 250

The serial comprises five machines. At the types SHB 60/100/125 the hydraulic aggre-gate is mounted on the base frame of the press. At the SHB 150/250 the hydraulic aggre-gate is installed separately. The briquette shape is octagonal (classic briquette shape) with the dimensions 125 x 70 mm. Especially both largest machines are laid out for multi-shift operation.

  •  SHB R 60 – 150

The construction of these machines corresponds to the series SHB 60 up to SHB 250. However the briquette shape is round with a diameter of 70 mm. The series is preferably applied when boiler plants shall be fed with the briquettes.

Standard

The machines are supplied ready-for-connection with fall stack and integrated light barrier, ma-chine body with 700 mm lg. pressing pliers, the hydraulic aggregate and complete switch unit (Simatic S7-200).

Optional equipment / accessories

The machines can be adapted by manifold accessories to individual requirements:

  • lengthened briquetting pliers,
  • reinforced clamping cylinder,
  • wear protection for feeding chamber and compacting chamber as well as for the pressing pliers,
  • oil heating for installation in not climate-controlled rooms,
  • dust exhausting,
  • electronic briquette length monitoring with filling number control of the press,
  • automatic start of the press via filling level indicator in the container.
